How to Set Up Website With GoDaddy – 2018

It’s that time of year again. That time that we talk about Godaddy Domain’s and how to set up a website with godaddy and learn how to make a wordpress website with Godaddy.

GoDaddy is such a popular website for domains that it only makes sense that a lot of people go there to register a Godaddy domain and want to make a website with Godaddy. But there is a better way. And today I am going to show you how to make a website with Godaddy.

So this is how you set up a website with Godaddy.

Step 1: Register Your Godaddy Website Domain

You probably already have a Godaddy domain but if you don’t -> click here to register

Step 2: Get Hosting Service with Hostgator

Go to Hostgator.com (affliate link)

When you sign up, use the coupon code “NYCTECH30” for 60% off

You’ll see some hosting plans there. Choose the hatchling or baby plan

  1. Click on I already own this domain
  2. Type in your domain and search
  3. Go through the sign up process
  4. When you sign up, use the coupon code “NYCTECH30” for 60% off

Step 3: Connect GoDaddy with Hostgator

  1. Sign into Godaddy
  2. Go to your domains (manage domain)
  3. Click on manage DNS
  4. Click on edit nameservers
  5. Click on custom
  6. Add nameservers from your Hostgator email here
  7. Click Save

Now your Godaddy domain is connected to your hosting provider

Step 4: Login to Cpanel

  1. You will get an email from Hostgator with your login details
  2. Click on your Control Panel link and sign in

Step 5: Install WordPress

  1. Once you’re logged into the Cpanel find the button that says Install WordPress or Click to Install WordPress
  2. Or something like that
  3. Select your domain
  4. Click next
  5. Type in an admin name, name, email, click the boxes and click Install

Now you have just installed WordPress and you can start making your wordpress website!

Step 6: Install WordPress Theme

Now you should have an email with login details to your new WordPress website

  2. Login with new wordpress details
  3. Now you’re on your wordpress dashboard

  7. Install and activate

Step 7: Customize Your WordPress website

  2. Go to settings on your wordpress dashboard
